What Is Australian Native Timber Flooring?

Australian native timber flooring is crafted from hardwoods sourced from the continent’s own forests. These hardwoods, including species like Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, Jarrah, and Sydney Blue Gum, are celebrated for their exceptional strength and resistance to wear. They have been a staple of Australian architecture and design for generations.

Native Timber Species Flooring in Perth

he timber used in our product is premium quality engineered Australian native species timber flooring sourced from sustained yield forestry operations certified under the Australian Forestry Standards Chain of custody (AS 4707-2006). Only non-toxic materials are utilised throughout the entire production process.

Available in 2 widths 135mm and 185mm. Surface coating options include Semi-Gloss and Bona Matte for that ultra modern look with a robust UV cured premium European coating. A profile of a square edge – T&G – 14mm thick with a 3mm genuine Australian species top wear layer on a stability-enhancing plywood base.

The product has exceptionally strong suitability for the Australian environment. Installation methods are either a direct bond to the subfloor or a floating installation over an acoustic underlay.

WA Jarrah

Jarrah timber flooring is a Western Australian native hardwood renowned worldwide for its durability and strength with timbers that display colours ranging from beautiful deep reds to soft burgundy and shades of blonde. Jarrah is an ideal natural timber that can handle the diverse Western Australian climatic conditions.

Its density of 820kg/m3 and hardness of 8.5Kn on the Janka scale and natural resistance to termites make it a resilient, durable and long lasting timber flooring adding that touch of class to any home or commercial building

NSW Blackbutt

NSW Blackbutt timber flooring is native to South Eastern Australia and is one of our most imported hardwoods with colouring from mid to pale browns, slight pinkish shades, and creams. Consisting of straight and cathedral grain patterns, it is an ideal natural timber that can handle the diverse Western Australian climatic conditions. A dry density of 900kg/m3 and a hardness rating of 9.1Kn on the Janka hardness scale put it above Jarrah and WA Marri on the hardwood list. A classic, timeless looking flooring make it a great choice and adds that touch of class to any home or commercial building.

WA Marri

WA Marri timber flooring is native to the South West of Western Australia and falls into the category of a true hardwood. Predominantly a light brown timber in colour with distinctive black gum veins interwoven throughout the boards. It matches WA Jarrah (its neighbor) for strength and hardness. An ideal natural timber that can handle the diverse Western Australian climate. Marri features a combination of lighter yellows, caramel, pale browns and fawn tones with striking dark veins running throughout.  WA Marri with its classic, eternal look is an absolutely stunning timber floor and without question adds a touch of class to any home or commercial building

Spotted Gum

Spotted Gum timber flooring is a native species to Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and grown also in a smaller capacity in South Australia and Western Australia. Also like most Australian native species over imported timbers an ideal natural timber that can handle the diverse Western Australian climatic conditions.  Spotted Gum is a bold and stunning looking floor with gorgeous wood tones of deep chocolate, shades of blondes and whisper greys rich and light reds. It is an exceedingly robust timber with a hardness rating of 11Kn on the Janka scale and a density of 950Kgm/3. It offers excellent termite resistance. A stunning timeless classic, adding that touch of class in any home or commercial building
